German Patent Attorney, European Patent and Trademark Attorney
Mr. Buchenau studied Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration at the RWTH Aachen University, specializing in the fields of automotive technology, operations research and controlling. Having finished his studies, he trained as a patent attorney in Cologne, Frankfurt and Munich. In 2007 Thomas Buchenau joined FREISCHEM & PARTNER Patentanwälte mbB.
Thomas Buchenau handles all aspects of commercial intellectual property law. He represents German and international clients in patent and trademark matters as well as in utility model and design patent matters. Furthermore, he gives legal advice in matters concerning the Employee-Invention Act (Arbeitnehmererfindergesetz), and maps out strategies and contracts for joint developments and licenses.
Memberships: the German Patent Bar, the Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office (EPI), the Federal Association of German Patent Attorneys, the German Association for Commercial Trademark and Copyright Protection e.V. (GRUR), the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI) and the International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys (FICPI).
